Embarking on a major new power station project in a remote area of Western Australia, our client needed to upgrade their management software. The existing system simply wasn’t flexible enough to handle the multiple sub-contractor purchase orders expected during the mammoth build.
A highly respected power generating and marketing company, our client had more than a century of experience behind them, as well as the skills and scale to deliver the project. All that was missing was the right software - and that’s where we came in.
The shopping list
There was a demanding list of requirements. As well as managing sub-contractor purchase orders and collating internal costs for overall reporting, the new software had to manage budgets to a specific work breakdown structure, and allow for manual and automatic forecasting. As a global business, easy collaboration and access via integrated reports and dashboards was essential.
How mpower empowered…
Our client looked at a number of potential solutions before deciding on our mpower system as the best fit for the project and the overall business.
mpower’s procurement module was used to create, print and issue purchase orders, and then to input invoices as they were received from contractors. This allowed commitment and actual cost to be tracked easily throughout the life of the project. Budgets were aligned to the company’s WBS, in turn supporting powerful summary reporting.
Fast implementation via cloud
mpower was rolled out quickly and smoothly using a cloud-hosted environment, removing the need to manage the system internally and simplifying global access. Working in both Australia and Canada, our client can interrogate the project and generate reports wherever and whenever they like.
mpower is designed and built to integrate easily with other popular software suites, including Primavera, SAP, Oracle E-business, IBM Maximo and Microsoft Projects.
