Monitor People

I have over 30 years experience in the offshore O&G market, initially with BP and later with a number of offshore contractors in the project cost management arena.

As a result of new technology being deployed in computerised project cost management techniques, in 1978 I became involved in the design and development of planning and cost management applications using the then market leading software for project cost management, Artemis. This led to a number of consultancy positions with a number of offshore contractors such as McDermott, De Groot and with the oil company Britoil.

I have a BSc in Mathematical Sciences and joined Conoco as a computer programmer where I received grounding in process control systems. With this knowledge I joined a small local software company to gain more direct experience of the market and worked for Ferranti who were the leading process control systems manufacturer in the O&G market. From there I worked on site at St Fergus refinery for the oil company Total on a process control project before founding Monitor.

My role in Monitor has evolved over the years. Initially I was involved in the design and development of the Artemis products but my role has increased over the years in the area of specialist project controls consultancy. In addition in my hands on, client facing role, I look after the consultancy, development and support functions within Monitor.

I have been involved in business development for over 30 years. I have worked with a number of businesses during this time as a non-executive director representing 3i among others. Since joining Monitor in 2005, I have been responsible for developing the business further and with my experience in account management secured key contracts, both in the UK and in Australia.

Prior to joining Monitor in 2000 I worked as an implementation consultant for a major US maintenance management system vendor providing technical implementation consultancy and as a mechanical engineer and project manager with BP.

My industry experience combined with considerable IT knowledge on both implementing and developing business systems has enabled Monitor to deliver proven industry solutions to the marketplace.
