Monitor announces expansion across two new international markets

Monitor has been providing innovative software solutions to the oil and gas, engineering and construction industries since it was established in 1987. The firm has offices in Aberdeen and Houston, and services the majority of companies operating in the North Sea.

In January Monitor started working with Australian company Woodside on the $12billion Pluto LNG Project located in the Carnavon Basin. The Pluto gas field is estimated to contain a total dry gas recoverable reserve volume of 4.4 trillion cubic feet (Tcf).

Monitor's work - valued at close to £200,000 - is due to be completed by the end of 2010.

The scope of the contract involved supplying Monitor's web-based mpower project control software to be used for the input, management and control of data on the Pluto hook-up. Monitor also provided its award-winning i-connect software to enable data sharing between different systems.

The work with Woodside involved configuring the mpower system at Monitor's Aberdeen HQ initially. It was then relocated to Australia and installed at Woodside's headquarters in Perth, Australia. The delivered system allows Woodside to create jobcards and estimates prior to the hook-up and then to record all booked man hours and enter associated progress during the offshore hook-up, thus providing the key project management information to allow accurate control of the project.

This year Monitor also entered the Canadian market and secured work with a Canadian oil service company in a deal which is expected to generate £300,000 upon completion. The work involved Monitor implementing its mpower software which will be used by the company and its clients to plan, control and review projects.

To further develop business in the region. Monitor has entered a re-seller agreement with Calgary based Emerald Associates. This new relationship will give Monitor a presence across Canada and throughout a large proportion of the US.

Mike Davidson, operations director of Monitor, said: "Monitor's joined-up approach to corporate data flow enables information to flow seamlessly and efficiently between systems, creating cost and time savings for our clients and giving an accurate representation of workloads.''
